Glasdesign

Since 2006 I have been dreaming of blowing glass and decided without further ado to do a two-week internship as a glass apparatus maker in a company in Bad Harzburg to see if I could be qualified for this I'm suitable for the job.
Documentaries such as Operation Pipeworks and Pipeclassics motivated me to get a taste of the glass industry during the job-finding phase and to find out more about the individual trades at to take a magnifying glass. More YouTube channels encouraged my curiosity, the enthusiasm grew. The basics of glass technology fascinated me so much that in September 2007 I founded a I started my training as a glass apparatus maker and quartz glass blower in the Arnstadt-Ilmenau region.
During the training I afforded myself a high quality Sisha and was a bit surprised about the quality of the processing, in such a high price segment. Unfortunately the product was not what I expected, the function did not reflect the taste and the quality of the workmanship was also not sufficiently satisfactory Due to the professional Experiences in the internship, as well as the accumulated know-how from the training was clear to me that it is possible to guarantee a higher quality standard.
Without further ado, I decided to turn my hobby into a vocation and, after my vocational training in 2010, I decided to become a state-certified technician for glass technology (Bachelor for glass technology) in order to fulfil the Crafts Code A of the Master Craftsman's Trade (compulsory admission in the craft). This was necessary to be able to work as a glass apparatus builder to be able to do it on their own.
Since 2016, I have been producing handmade, thick-walled unique glass items that are more impact-resistant than conventional glass "Made in Germany". Through a very clean production process and accurate Processing of the glass joints and fusions results in a milder stress pattern in the glass body than with uneven wall thicknesses and approaches. Through a subsequent cooling down of the glassware in a lehr, the remaining harmful voltage is removed from the glass. This provides a very high resistance to knocks or falling.
It is very complicated and time-consuming to colour clear glass tubes or to produce coloured tube sections using "Vac-Stack" processes. Working with glass colours requires a lot of time and Silence, in order to process them as cleanly as possible and not to work unnecessary inclusions, such as air bubbles, into the glass structure.
If the flame pressure is too high, oxygen will diffuse through the glass surface and settle as an air bubble in the glass. The same phenomenon occurs when the coloured glass oxidized in clear glass. The reason for this is the work in a not intended area of the flame.
Each colour has a different linear expansion, which makes processing within the melt more difficult. During thermal deformation, different toughness can be felt, only at a very homogeneous heating of the glass body, the different coloured glasses are able to be processed evenly by the respective glass flow. It is nevertheless an art to process the individual materials to be controlled. Thus white glass melts clearly before black glass. Coloured glass is a chemistry in itself.
The colouring in the glass is not caused by pigments. There are metal oxides in the clear glass which absorb the light. Metal oxides do not disintegrate, therefore a glass appears even after 200 years in the same shine and colour as on the day it was made. Coloured glasses do not fade.
It is very important that there are glassblowers who are informed about the function, use and processing of your glass art. Good glassblowing skills alone are not enough to produce the best glass products of the world.
If I have aroused your interest, I would be very pleased to manufacture a unique glass product for you.
